Mt. Turyunsan, the highest mountain in Haenam, rises to an elevation of 703 meters. Its scale is suggested by its six peaks, each of varying heights. Fantastically shaped rocks are in abundance on the steep southwestern slope, while the northwestern slope is gentle and provides great scenic beauty.
Since the routes of ascent are not rugged, you can get to the summit in around two to three hours. The four kilometer path to the entrance of Taehungsa Temple is bordered with evergreen trees and provides travelers with an unforgettable memory. The whole hike takes about four hours round trip.
