Our county is the largest gun in Cholla South Province, which is located at the left bottom of Korean peninsula.
Other surrounding counties are Kangjin-gun (east), Chindo-gun (west), Wando-gun (south), Yongam-gun (north), and Mokpo City (northwest).


 
Geographical conditions
 
From old times, Haenam was the entrance of an important route through which the culture of the continent was imported.

Geographically it is situated on the end of Sovaek mountains rang. It is oceanic climate which is mild in Haenam, so the climate is proper to agriculture and fishery.
